| Cosandra Lee Medina, a senior at Mountain Pointe High School is the Gold Medallion award recipient in Journalism. Intensely creative in her communications, Cosandra ultimately wants to blend her passion for writing and artistic vision in a career in video games. Cosandra’s love of writing was sparked after she completed YAWP, the Young Adults Writing Program, at Arizona State University. “There I learned that words could not only shape the imagination, but alter the human psyche,” she explains. Cosandra has also bolstered the pursuit of her dreams with a dedication to her studies and a commitment to her community. Of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent, Cosandra speaks poetically about her heritage. Cosandra will attend either Whitworth or Arizona State University in the fall. |
