| Lauren Elizabeth Medina of Springfield, Virginia attends Lake Braddock Secondary School, where she holds a 3.78 GPA. Of Honduran and Italian descent, Lauren is an AP Scholar with Honor, recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award and Career Exploration Pin, an Academic Letter, Leadership Pin, and has been recognized as a Student Mentor. Working in a tutoring and mentoring program for elementary and middle school students, Lauren discovered her ambition to become a teacher. After Hurricane Katrina, Lauren traveled to New Orleans to help rebuild homes, and a children’s education and worship program that she created has become a permanent ministry at her church. Lauren will pursue a five-year Masters Program in Elementary Education with a Psychology major at the College of William and Mary. |
